VOLITE (SKIN BOOSTER)
VOLITE (SKIN BOOSTER) is a minimally invasive injectable treatment that delivers hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin, directly into the dermis layer. Hyaluronic acid attracts water to hydrate skin, improve elasticity and reduce fine lines. Hyaluronic acid fillers are recognised to bring benefits to the skin by stimulating collagen production, which leads to an improvement in overall skin quality.
AEON LDM®-MED (Local Dynamic Micro-Ultrasound) is a form of ultrasound treatment where the dual-frequencies achieve a much higher intensity than conventional Ultrasound treatments.
This technology is based on dual-frequency ultrasound waves and is able to modulate dynamic processes of production and destruction within connective tissue which is of primary Importance in different aesthetical applications or dermatological diseases.
LDM offers the option of an effective, non-invasive treatment for skin tightening wrinkle reduction, improvement of the skin structure and stimulation of endogenous production of hyaluronic acid, improving skin consistency and firmness and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
- HA is naturally occurring in the skin (mostly the dermis layer)
- HA is also being broken down by various processes in the body leading to drier skin as we age
- HA is a molecule which binds strongly to water to retain it in that location
- Therefore, more HA in the dermis helps to provide more hydrated skin
- HA can also can stimulate collagen production which is important for elasticity of the skin.
- If you have dry skin
- If you have skin that is oily on the surface but dehydrated underneath
- If you wish to maintain your skin quality and enhance general skin health
- If you have undergone laser and/or other heat generating procedures that dehydrate the skin
VOLITE Skin Booster can help to provide more hydration, smoother texture, stimulation of collagen in the skin which can lead to improvement in overall skin quality of the treated area(s) after 1 session. Results may take more than 3-4 weeks to be visible and have been shown to last from 6-9 months after 1 session (of 2 ml in cheeks). However, results may vary according to the individual. During the consultation, the doctor will discuss and determine the amount of product required to achieve the patient’s desired results.
Since VOLITE is injected into the skin there is some pain. However, VOLITE does contain the anaesthetic, lidocaine, to reduce the pain during injection. Also, the needle is even smaller than those used for “botox” injections. Numbing cream will also be applied before the procedure to minimize your pain.
VOLITE is a hyaluronic acid gel but in a thinner state to allow the product to spread and distribute in the skin layer. Other types of hyaluronic acid gel fillers are thicker and are mainly used to replace volume in certain areas. Therefore the VOLITE risks of some side effects are less than the thicker HA fillers, but you still need to be aware of reported side effects from hyaluronic acid “fillers.”
Early side effects can be pain, tenderness, redness, swelling, bruising or itching sensation in the treated area. These side effects can resolve within 2-3 days, but some symptoms like swelling or bruising can last up to 10-14 days or longer. Aggravation of acne(pimples), sometimes accompanied by redness, may also occur a few days to a few weeks after the injection and may require separate treatment.
Late side effects of HA could be discoloration at the injection sites, granulomas (accumulation of hardened tissue), delayed allergic reactions, bumps or scars which may appear weeks or even months after the procedure.
Rarer and more serious complications include: abscesses (hard and swollen sores that may contain pus – may require surgical drainage and subsequent scarring); blocking of blood vessels (may be permanent) causing necrosis(damage/death of skin), blindness, or stroke. These complications are more relevant when injecting “thicker” HA fillers to localized areas in “bolus” for volume enhancement especially (but not limited) around the nose and eye areas.
You should not apply make-up for 24-48 hours to avoid unnecessary clogging of the pores which may lead to acne or infection of the puncture sites. You should also avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, extreme temperatures, using saunas or Turkish baths, massages, strenuous exercise for two weeks after the injection.
If you experience any abnormal signs or symptoms (such as blanching or darkening of a patch of skin, localized pain/tenderness which does not lessen over time, aggravating swelling) which concern you, you should notify the doctor immediately so proper and appropriate treatment may be performed. If needed, the HA can be dissolved using a hyaluronidase solution which is prepared in the clinic.
